Residential Services for boys, ages 6 to 12

Program Overview

The Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities, located on the Woodlawn Campus in Danville, Kentucky, were acquired from Christian Care Communities in November 2007.

The Boys In Care

For boys ages 6-12 with severe emotional and behavioral problems, Sunrise Children's Services offers two highly structured Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF's), open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  They are designed to meet the needs of children who need more long-term, comprehensive care, but who do not require hospitalization.  In this setting, children can continue their schooling at our on-campus classroom, while benefiting from:

• a 24-hour, on-call clinician
• on-site psychiatric and nursing services and medication monitoring
• individual, family and group therapy
• nutritional assessments
• therapeutic recreational activities
• psycho-educational groups covering an array of skills/behaviors.
• Specialized therapy for children with sexual behavior problems
• Spiritual and moral growth opportunities.
