Crisis intervention for children ages 6-18
The Sanders Crisis and Stabilization Center, located on the Woodlawn Campus in Danville, Kentucky, was acquired from Christian Care Communities in November 2007.
The Sanders Center is dedicated to helping those children who are at risk of hospitalization or out-of-home placement, offering them a short-term crisis residential treatment option. The facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is staffed with trained child- care workers, mental health associates and licensed clinicians. In many cases, a few day’s stay at the Sanders Center is enough to stabilize an out-of-control child, allowing them to be released to their families. However, in those cases where the child is not stabilized, the Sanders staff will work along side the child’s parent/guardian to determine the best level of treatment the child may require. Here, children can take advantage of:
- individual, family and group therapy, psychiatric consultations
- crisis management
- structured recreational activities
- on-campus nursing care
- referral and follow up
- a homebound school through Danville Independent
