Program Overview Cornerstone Counseling is a professional Christian counseling ministry dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families solve problems in a healthy way. A caring counselor can often help people discover new ways of looking at the difficulties in their lives so that problems can become opportunities to learn and grow. Cornerstone offices are made possible through partnerships between local groups and Sunrise Children's Services. The local groups provide office space, volunteer receptionists, and scholarship funds to ensure counseling is available to everyone with a need. Sunrise Children's Services provides professional counselors and clinical management. Sunrise operates Cornerstone Counseling offices in Berea, Richmond and Owensboro. In addition to Cornerstone Counseling, Sunrise Children's Services also provides residential, pregnancy counseling, adoption, and foster care across the state. Sunrise is licensed by the Kentucky Cabinet for Families and Children and has provided services to children and families since 1869. The Services All services are provided by master's degree-level or higher professionals who approach counseling from the Christian perspective that every person is important and loved by God. All counseling is strictly confidential with the number of sessions determined by mutual agreement between the client and the counselor. Cornerstone Counseling is readily available to all who need assistance. Individuals wishing to receive services can simply call the office and set up an appointment. Referrals from pastors and other professionals are also accepted. There is a charge of $80 per counseling hour but scholarships are available to help if this amount is a burden.
