Residential Services for teenage girls, ages 12 to 17

The Dixon Center is located in the town of Dixon in Webster County in western Kentucky. The facility is a ranch-style home that provides residential care for up to 12 girls.
It is a ministry of Sunrise Children's Services which provides residential, counseling, adoption, foster care, and independent living services throughout Kentucky. Founded in 1869, Sunrise is the largest private residential child care agency in Kentucky and the oldest Southern Baptist child care ministry. Sunrise is licensed by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
The Dixon program works with girls between the ages of 12 and 17 who come from backgrounds of physical or sexual abuse, neglect, behavioral problems or other crises. While in care, girls attend school, receive counseling and participate in activities designed to bring about emotional healing and spiritual growth.
Caring staff work to create an environment of stability and normalcy for the girls to help them feel safe and secure. The overall goal of any child’s program is to promote healing and growth so the girls can leave the center and go to a more permanent stable living situation, hopefully their own families.
