David said he tried for years to live a “normal” life despite sexual and physical abuse. At 15, he realized life was anything but normal and only getting worse. He was thankful to come to KBHC’s Baptist Youth Ranch, where he said the staff was committed to helping him overcome his past.

“I’m just focusing on a better future,” he said. “I don’t want to follow in the footsteps of those who hurt me.”

For David, KBHC has been a place of refuge – a place where he said he’s learned to love Jesus and to love himself.
