OTHER WAYS TO HELP THE KIDS
GIFTS OF STOCK

If you itemize deductions on your federal income tax return, you may be able to deduct your contribution from your adjusted gross income AND avoid capital gains tax on the appreciated value of the securities. If the stock has depreciated, it's best to sell it, deduct the investment loss, and give the proceeds to Sunrise. This way, you get a deduction for both the investment loss and the charitable gift. (Talk to your tax advisor for deduction, tax requirements and limitations.)

MATCHING GIFTS

Double your donation at NO COST to you! Your company may have a matching gift program. Matching gift programs are a good way to maximize the impact of your gift. Many companies offer matching gift programs to their employees.

Here's how you can double your gift:

 1. ASK: Ask your Human Resources department if your company participates in a matching gift program for charity.
 2. COMPLETE: Print or request your company's matching gift form and submit it to your company's HR department.
 3. SEND: Mail a copy of your request to Sunrise Children's Services and we'll do the rest.

Your donation helps us care for more than 500 abused and neglected children every day, 365 days a year. With your help, we can do more.
Send your completed matching gift form to:

Shop with a Sunrise Kroger card and Sunrise receives 4%

This is one of the easiest ways to benefit Sunrise

Individuals, churches, Sunday school classes or groups can purchase Kroger gift cards through Sunrise (starting balance on cards is $5.00.) Simply reload any dollar amount you wish onto your card and use it each time your shop at Kroger. Four percent of all your purchases goes directly to Sunrise for the care of children and teenagers.
It's very important that you keep your card and keep recharging it for future purchases. Sunrise only benefits from cards purchased through the Sunrise account with Kroger in Louisville.

To Get Your Kroger Card

Send a check made payable to Sunrise to the address below and let us know how many cards you would like. Cost is $5.00 per card. (Each card has a starting balance of $5.00 worth of merchandise.) To pay with a credit card, call Cindya Hills at (800) 456-1386.

THROUGH YOUR CHURCH OR CIVIC/SCHOOL GROUP

Sponsor a group of our children for Christmas.

Participate in our Miles of Pennies program. Collecting a Mile of Pennies is a great way for children's ministries and youth groups to work toward a goal and have fun at the same time.

Collect grocery gift cards to help us supply meals for the children.

Pray for the children in care. Dedicate a Sunday to praying for the "orphans of the living," or celebrate nationally observed months such as Child Abuse Awareness Month in April or Foster Care Awareness Month in May. Sunrise is happy to provide materials to help you.
