The children of Sunrise come from various backgrounds of abuse and/or neglect. Although we are prevented from giving particular details about any of our kids, they all have common struggles that you can pray for.

When the children come into one of our programs, they are all dealing with feelings of betrayal and a lack of trust. They are frightened and uncertain about their future. They have different issues related to their abuse or neglect that they have to work through.

While in our programs, the children are in counseling and group therapy as well as having a personalized plan to deal with their individual struggles. Most of them have a lot to work through before they can be either reunited with family, adopted or transferred to some other living arrangement.

Each transition in the process has it's own difficulties of change and adjustment for the children. These kids have experienced things that no one should have to face especially at such a tender age. They can all use your prayers for peace and that they would know the love of God through the care that they receive through Sunrise .
