RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Sunrise Children's Services operates a network of residential programs across the state that offers long-term, residential care and treatment to young people from ages 12-18. In addition to providing seven day a week, round the clock care, the young people either attend local schools or are taught on campus through agreements Sunrise has with the local school district. The goal of the programs is to help young people transition from a home of abuse and neglect so they are able to return to their homes, or into a more traditional foster care setting.

BOYS PROGRAMS

Crossroads Treatment Center is licensed to provide therapeutic care and intervention for up to 12 male perpetrators of sexual abuse. The young men range in age from 14-18 and the program helps them take accountability for their behaviors, gain understanding of their choices and develop a plan to remain safe in their community once they graduate from the program. A combination of relapse prevention treatment and skills training help them accomplish this goal.

Cumberland Adventure Program provides a unique treatment experience for boys ages 12-18. Located on 100 acres in rural Pulaski County near Lake Cumberland, the program offers treatment for a number of behavioral and emotional issues through therapeutic outdoor adventure experiences connected with clinical intervention for more than 50 boys. Many of the boys come from backgrounds that include alcohol and substance abuse, and there is counseling available for that as well. The teens are housed in five residential cabins and they attend an on-campus school operated by the Pulaski County School District. Part of their treatment involves many outdoor activities like camping, backpacking, canoeing, obstacle and confidence courses and a high ropes course.

Spring Meadows is licensed to provide therapeutic care for up to 20 severely abused boys, from ages 12-18. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to address the present and future needs of boys in Kentucky who are best served in a residential setting. The 18,000 square foot facility provides sleeping, living, eating, educational and recreational space, all under one room, as well as outdoor recreation. The boys receive individual, group and family therapy and for those who are dealing with alcohol or substance abuse, special counseling is utilized.
