Donor Opportunities

Cumberland Adventure Program – Bronston, KY

$1,750,000 - $2,500,000

Sunrise’s exceptional facility, Cumberland Adventure Program, is located on a 40-acre campus with five housing cabins, a central dining lodge and a challenging ropes course. CAP lacks an indoor gymnasium for the clients to use during cold or wet weather. New classrooms are also needed, instead of using the former maintenance building and milieu area of one housing facility. The building could also include a swimming pool. Also, an expansion of two to four of the cabins to increase the client capacity from 56 to 60 would be great. Completion: TBD.

Crossroads Treatment Center -Elizabethtown, KY

$500,000 - $750,000

Crossroads is a specialized center that provides therapeutic care and intervention for up to 12 male perpetrators of sexual abuse, ages 14 to 18. There is a need to add six additional bedrooms, another bathroom, and a time-out room to provide individual bedrooms for each client. Also add a 1/2 gymnasium would be very helpful.

MSC Building Site Drainage & Pier Supports– Mt. Washington, KY

Sunrise’s Ministry Support Center needs special drainage work to stabilize the underlying soil and prevent future floor expansions and contractions. Once the drainage has been completed and sufficient time has passed to allow the ground to settle, interior repairs can commence. The building also needs additional work on entrances and parking lot access. Suites at MSC are naming opportunities for primary donors.

Morehead Center Building Expansion– Morehead, KY

$450,000 - $600,000

The project includes adding two more bedrooms, two more bathrooms, and two time-out rooms to the main building at the Morehead facility. It also includes adding a half-size gymnasium next to the classroom. This will reduce the number of clients in bedrooms from 3 to 2 persons. The time-out rooms help the staff manage unruly clients in particular times, and help segregate them from engaging the other clients. The gymnasium would provide an indoor space for the clients to exercise, and be an all-purpose area for other activities.

Morehead Foster Care Office Purchase– Somerset, KY

Purchasing the current office building will save Sunrise rental expenses of $40,000 per year. The building is in excellent condition in a good location with easy access to the Interstate highway. It is 4,000 sq. ft. on the first floor and 1,100 sq. ft. upstairs.

Gibson Cottage Renovation– Danville, KY

Renovate Gibson Cottage on the Woodland campus for additional office space or for other uses. The project includes new windows and interior improvements.

Woodlawn Access Road Construction – Danville, KY

C & R construction has built a new access road for entry onto the Woodlawn Campus. The old road and adjacent land frontage which we did not own has been purchased by a company that provides Senior Living services. The old road has been removed, necessitating building a new way to get to the campus. The new road meets all local regulatory requirements, and is structurally designed for supporting emergency vehicles and delivery trucks.

$23,000 each

Sunrise needs additional vehicles for staff to use in working with clients throughout Kentucky. By using company vehicles, Sunrise reduces its travel expense reimbursements to staff; this also prevents wear and tear on employees’ personal vehicles.
