Generous Texas Roadhouse Donation Boosts Post-Foster-Care Program

Texas Roadhouse’s purchasing department has donated enough items to fully equip six kitchens in support of Sunrise Children’s Services’ innovative VentureON program. VentureON connects youths aging out of foster care with resources that can help them find housing, as well as jobs and an education. The Louisville-based restaurant company is supplying everything from utensils to cooking and cleaning items for apartments that will house 18 to 21 year olds who are transitioning into adulthood and independent living. Members of the company’s purchasing department, who chose to devote their time as well as financial resources to Sunrise, worked together to identify and shop for needed kitchen items.

Texas Roadhouse’s generosity will help young people, whose pasts have been marked by abuse and neglect, take an important step into adulthood and responsibility. “This is one of the most rewarding things we do as a company,” said Melissa Price, director of purchasing at Texas Roadhouse.
