Kohl’s Volunteers Help Keep Woodlawn Beautiful

Sunrise’s Woodlawn property is surrounded by acres of lush greenery. On May 11, volunteers from Kohl’s stores at Hamburg and near Nicholasville helped maintain the historic site’s natural beauty. Eleven volunteers planted boxwoods, spread mulch, prepared flower beds and cleaned playground equipment.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Kohl’s has supported Sunrise as part of its annual “Go Green” event, which includes corporate donations in addition to volunteer work. Kohl’s has assisted about two dozen central Kentucky nonprofits over the past year.

“Many of these volunteers come back year after year,” said Randy Greene, Sunrise’s fundraiser in south central and eastern Kentucky. “Their gift of labor and fresh enthusiasm bless our staff and the children we serve. Kohl’s personnel are very special to Sunrise!”
