Friends and supporters of Sunrise Children’s Services in the Paducah region came together today to help abused and neglected children. Proceeds from the eighth A&K Construction/Sunrise Children’s Services Golf Outing, held at the Country Club of Paducah, will help Kentucky’s oldest and largest child services agency care for the most vulnerable kids among us.

Phil Justice, Sunrise’s director of Philanthropy, is hosting the annual event, which has raised more than $290,000 since its inception. Justice said it’s a great opportunity for everyone to come together for some fun and to help Sunrise “give children in crisis a safe place to stay, nutritious food and a sense of security.”

Golf is just one part of the day’s activities. There’s also a dinner buffet, an awards ceremony, gifts for each golfer, and special contests with multiple chances to win prizes. Spots for this year’s outing filled up early, reflecting the popularity of the event and the ongoing willingness of participants to help out.
