Sunrise Joins Run/Walk to Prevent Child Abuse
A team from Sunrise Children’s Services took part in the Commit to Prevent 5K Run/Walk at Lexington’s Kentucky Horse Park on Sunday, April 10. The event, one of the largest in Kentucky commemorating National Child Abuse Prevention Month, benefits child abuse prevention programs statewide.
Amanda Gahafer, Jake Pelfrey, and Karlee Brewer from Sunrise took part in the 5K race alongside hundreds of other runners representing the state’s child advocacy community. A 1K race for children preceded the main event.
Sunrise is the oldest organization in Kentucky serving abused, neglected and at-risk children throughout the Commonwealth.
