Jake Pelfrey

VICE PRESIDENT OF ADVANCEMENT

At Sunrise since 2011

Jake Pelfrey holds the position of Vice President of Advancement for Sunrise, stationed outside of Louisville. With over 15 years of dedicated social work experience, he has made meaningful contributions across various locales including youth homeless shelters in Chicago, at-risk schools in Phoenix, and a youth crisis center in Cincinnati.

Jake holds a Masters of Arts degree in religion from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, and a Masters of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He is also recognized as a credentialed Christian Nonprofit Leader by the Christian Leadership Alliance.

Committed to his mission, Jake frequently addresses audiences at churches and workshops, offering practical insights on how the church can extend its care to foster children. A significant part of his efforts is devoted to conveying the impactful narratives and initiatives of Sunrise. With a core aim of redefining notions like ‘unadoptable’ and ‘aging out’.

Moreover, Jake’s work is deeply rooted in his faith, as he believes in the transformative power of the Gospel and its connection to the concept of adoption. This spiritual calling drives his dedication to reshaping lives and advocating for those in need.
