New Start Adolescent Treatment Facility

It is Time for a New Start

The New Start Adolescent Treatment Facility is a service provided by Sunrise Children’s Services. We are located in the small town of Bronston, just south of Somerset. We are a residential facility that treats boys ages 12 to 17 who have alcohol and/or drug addictions. New Start offers inpatient rehabilitation services designed to help children develop skills that will help them overcome co-occurring problems in a positive way without turning to alcohol or drugs.

We want to provide the tools and support that they will need to be successful. We use a curriculum called The Seven Challenges that we work through to help children dig deep and be honest about the reasons why they use alcohol/drugs, the harm that can come from use, and develop skills to make better choices that lead to a brighter future.

HOW TO GET STARTED

The referral process is very simple for the New Start Treatment Program. Referral packets are available that require some basic information and honest answers to the questions included. Anyone can request a referral packet, but the parent/guardian must complete and submit the packet.

Once the referral packet is completed, please mail it to New Start Adolescent Treatment Center, P. O. Box 267, Bronston, KY 42518 or email to intake@sunrise.org. You may call our facility to receive a packet, 606.256.1042 or you can request a packet at intake@sunrise.org. We will be happy to send a referral packet to you electronically or by mail. You may also fill out the form below to initiate the referral process.

A Safe Place to Heal

Recently the Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities Office of the Commissioner completed an annual visit at New Start Adolescent Addiction Treatment Center.  Our clients told the surveyors a lot of positives about the program, especially that they had informative groups, family sessions, therapeutic sessions, fun outings, good food, and a lot of recreational activities at the center.

Our Treatment Modality and Curriculum

Our comprehensive treatment program, spanning approximately 90 days, is tailored to foster recovery through a blend of individual, family, and group therapy. At the heart of our philosophy is a systemic approach to healing. What does a systemic approach entail? It involves recognizing and engaging the entire network surrounding the youth—family and friends—to create a supportive recovery environment. Through family therapy, New Start aims to rebuild the trust and strengthen the bonds between the youth and their caregivers. This approach ensures that as our clients navigate their return to familiar environments, they are better equipped to manage the challenges and changes they encounter, armed with resilience and adaptive coping strategies. By addressing not just the individual’s struggles but the broader relational dynamics, New Start empowers young individuals to achieve recovery and positive change.
