At OBTH we are empowering young women and bridging the gap from fostercare and residential treatment to adulthood. This unique residential program is dedicated to supporting teens and young adult females as they navigate the critical transition from foster care or traditional residential treatment to independent adulthood. Rooted in a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, our mission is to foster resilience, personal growth, and lifelong success. We provide a safe, nurturing environment where each participant is encouraged to discover her strengths, pursue her dreams, and develop essential life skills for a confident and empowered future. Located on the peaceful and historic campus of the former St. Catharine College in Springfield, Kentucky, OBTH serves up to 20 girls in a dormitory-style setting. Here, each resident will receive 24/7 care, including food, clothing, shelter, and the consistent support of trained staff dedicated to their healing and personal growth.

Each participant receives comprehensive independent living skills training designed to prepare her for a confident and successful future. Areas of focus include budgeting, cooking, household management, self-advocacy, and other essential daily living skills. We also provide personalized educational support for completing high school, pursuing higher education, or exploring vocational pathways, along with guided practice in real-world experiences such as job searching, interviewing, and navigating community and public resources.
Through trauma-informed mentoring, emotional wellness groups, and individualized goal setting, young women are encouraged to recognize their strengths, build resilience and self-esteem, and pursue their dreams. Our team provides ongoing support as each participant works toward her personal goals, tracks her progress, celebrates achievements, and develops the skills and confidence needed to build a healthy, independent, and empowered future.

Once a referral is made, the youth’s case is reviewed for eligibility and fit within the program. Upon acceptance, the young person is welcomed into OBTH’s care, where a comprehensive intake process begins. An individualized plan is created to guide her healing.
Sunrise is in need of new foster parents every day all over the state of Kentucky. We have more than 300 children a day who are currently placed in our Sunrise-certified, therapeutic foster homes.
